Maj Gen Deepak Sapra is a retired General of the Indian Army. He joined the Armed Forces in 1978. Prior to commissioning he had done B.Sc (Agri) Hons, he is also a M.Sc from Madras University and has two M.Phils in Management and Strategy. The General Officer has been a Senior Fellow at the Centre for Strategic Studies and Simulation, New Delhi. His Armed Forces Qualification includes graduation from Defence Services Staff College, The Higher Command Course of Indian Army and he is also an Alumni of National Defence College.A decorated soldier, he, in a career spanning over 37 years, has held almost all critical appointments of the Armed forces. He has served in the active Counter Insurgency and proxy war environment and has been instrumental in policy formulation for Military Training, Logistics and Procurements.He had been selected specially to train the Armed Forces of the island nation of Seychelles. The General Officer is presently serving as Managing Director of Army Welfare Placement Organisation (AWPO) where he is involved in facilitating for the 2nd career for Ex Servicemen in Corporate, PSU and the Industry. He is a member of the Core group of Veteran Directorate and CSR committee.
